The Conversation Space is 10!

The Conversation Space is 10 years old!

The last 10 years have been a journey, both personally and professionally.

Losing a parent, navigating the teenage years, transitioning to children flying the next, menopause, oh, and a global pandemic, all bring their unique challenges whilst running a business, and a BIG thank you to my family for being alongside me at each step.

Professionally, I’ve learned heaps, and that’s come from the incredible people we’ve met along the way. It’s an immense privilege to work with such an amazing group of consultants, associates, and clients, from global jewellers to charities, professional services to B Corporations, all of whom have a desire to make work more meaningful. Choosing to invest time and resources into growing conversational wisdom is no mean feat. You know who you are, and we salute you.

But there is no doubt, I would not be writing this post now without my Co-Founder and friend, Emily Cosgrove. We have travelled, worked, written, laughed, and cried together. Shared moments when we’ve been on top of the world, and moments when we’ve felt scared.

What has never waivered during the past 10 year, however, is our commitment to our mission. Strengthening human connection through the power of conversation.

We are at a pivotal time of transformation at work. AI and technology are radically reshaping what we do. Hybrid working is here to stay. And a lot of studies I read indicate that stress, loneliness, and overwork are at crisis levels.

As human beings, we need each other. To listen. To share our ideas. To skilfully disagree. To step into brave conversations. And to show that we care.

The next decade for The Conversation Space is about to begin.

And it’s going to be filled with a growing Conversation Space Community. More face-to-face connection as human beings together. Supporting leaders and teams to grow their conversational muscle. And stepping courageously into Brave Space.

We look forward to becoming more conversationally wise.

Most of all, we look forward to continuing to help people strengthen human connection through the power of conversation.
